Online Businesses are not the dotcom business mania... nor the famous "Roll-back pricing"
So what is an online business and why do we care? First, and foremost, YOU have to have customers/clients for your online businesses otherwise known as --
the target population is the focus group of customers/clients that your business is "targeted" toward, hence target population!
So here is what we start looking at:
Who is using the Internet in America?
71.4% of the population in Amercia has access/uses the Internet - Compare this to 14% in China! [As of March 2008 (% of population penetration)]
OKAY... what about the business growth? Well, in North America usage growth of the Internet increased 119%! (2000-2007)
So in looking at these two components of a business, would I be safe in starting an online business if I lived in America? Why or Why not?

With the economy being what it is I think that it would be beneficial to open up an on line business in the United States as more people will choose to shop from home to save on gas. However, creating a new on line business will have to be unique and have a specific target population because you will have to compete with the older more well established businesses.
I'm not sure I would the word "safe" because no new business venture is ever safe! The economy isn't doing well, so you would have to seriously consider the type of product as I think people will pull back on spending even more unless something major changes. That said, I agree with the previous comment ... fuel costs are high and if shipping costs can be kept reasonable, people are going to consider buying online more nad ore. With the right product(s) marketed toward the right target audience, chances are good that you could be successful.

Project Management seems to be a very interesting subject, I have been the over projects and involved in various other projects. But I never learned the skill of Project Management, that why I am taking this class. I want to be efficient in Project Management.
